Event Recap:
This event was the debut for many racers in 2008. It was Troy Djuren's first race in his new
truck, and put on an excellent show. His new truck was low and fast, and with Troy behind the
wheel, will be quite a threat to all the other racers in the future, look for it at upcoming events
sporting a new 2008 F-150 body. Crystal Djuren was piloting Optical Delusion the 2007 Ford
F-150 previously driven by her husband Troy, it was her first time racing this truck, but
definitely not her first time behind her wheel, each round she continued to get faster, and its
just a matter of time before she's in the winner's circle. Brad LaMarche unveiled his '91 Jeep
Grand Cherokee with a newly installed small block Ford V8 showing some serious power. The
Jeep suffered some damage when its fan came in contact with the radiator in the first round
but with the help of his family who doubles as his pit crew they had it fixed and back for round 2
where they laid down a scorching time, but unfortunately were penalized 10 seconds for
clipping a cone. They came back the next night though and laid down the second fastest time
of the weekend. WSORR racer Kevin Arnoldy showed off his Ford Bronco and ran strong all
weekend. Chad "Madman" Mellem and his 80ci of fury in his Suzuki Samurai ran hard and
made an excellent showing but was out powered on the open course that favored the higher
horsepower larger trucks. Local racers Terry LaFleur and Rex Gamroth brought out two new
trucks and put on a great show for the fans with some big air off the jumps. Terry Lafleur ran
the second fastest time the first night, but unfortunately went off course and was penalized.
Local racer Chris Shove made an impressive appearance in his Jeep Cherokee, placing 2nd
the first night and causing some serious damage in the process, the lower front control arm
mount broke punching a hole in the oil pan and cracking the oil pump, a frenzy of wrenching
and welding got his jeep repaired and ready for the next day when he placed 4th. The big
show of the day came from Ben Passa in Anger Management who laid down scorching times
both nights to win two nights in a row. We'd like to congratulate and thank all of our racers for
putting on the best tough truck show La Crosse, Wisconsin has seen
