Stock

Description: 2 and 4wheel drive trucks and SUV’s, intended to be a stock entry level
class.

Engine:
A.        OEM or direct replacement parts only.
B.        No modification or alterations to any parts unless specified that it is allowed.
C.        Alternator, fan, and power steering pump must remain if vehicle was equipped
from the factory. Other accessories may be removed.
D.        Block, crankshaft, heads, and rods must match what was available for that year
vehicle.
E.        Maximum of .060 overbore.
F.        Pistons must be direct replacement
G.        Pistons must be at or below deck height

Fuel system and induction:
A.        Maximum of 750cfm OEM carburetor if available as a option. Maximum of
600cfm aftermarket carburetor.
B.        EFI will be allowed if the following conditions are met:
a.        No modification to any parts, this includes but not limited to, air intake
    tube, MAF sensor, throttle body, fuel injectors, ECU or any related
    sensors.
b.        Must match year and make of vehicle.
c.        Engines originally equipped with EFI may substitute with a low rise
    C.A. R.B emissions legal 4bbl intake manifold with 600cfm carburetor.

Forced Induction:
A.        No roots type blowers.
B.        Centrifugal superchargers and turbochargers will be allowed on 4 and 6
cylinder gasoline and diesel and 8cylinder diesel engines only.
C.        Must be factory equipped, no “dealer option”
D.        Engine combination must have been produced in quantities of 5000 or more
available in the United States.
E.        VIN number on cab must match for that engine.
F.        No modifications to system at all. Boost must remain stock.

Heads:
A.        Factory heads only. No modifications.
B.        Heads may be milled.

Valvetrain:
A.        Must remain stock for that vehicle year.

Oiling System:
A.        High volume/pressure oil pumps allowed
B.        No dry sumps or other modifications.

Cooling System:
A.        Radiator must be front mounted in original location
B.        Limited to one radiator.

Chassis:

Frame:
A.        Stock frame only
B.        No additional material may be added to the frame with the exception of:
a.        When frame is repaired patch may not extend beyond 1” in any direction of
affected area.
b.        Additional front cross member may be added, must remain with 5” of
existing cross member
C.        Cannot be lightened by removing material.

Suspension:
A.        Suspension mounting points cannot be altered or modified.
B.        Suspension parts may not be modified, repairs allowed but may not provide
additional strength or change geometry from that of original components
C.        Spring rates may be changed, but must remain in original position.
D.        ½ ton truck may use ¾ ton parts provided that they are from same year of         
manufacture and do not alter suspension geometry(i.e. direct replacement)

Shocks:
A.        No rebuildable, adjustable, remote reservoir, or  non-OEM coil-over shocks
allowed
B.        Maximum of 2 shocks per corner in original location, if factory equipped with
only one shock second shock may not be longer than 2” of original shock. May
only be mounted on lower A-arm, I-beam, or axle housing.

Axle assembly:
A.        Must be original or available as an option for that vehicle in that vehicle year.
B.        Center sections may be welded or spooled to provide traction, factory limited
slips differentials allowed, no aftermarket limited slips or lockers

Transmission/Transfer case
A.        Must use available transmission for that model/year
B.        Single disk aftermarket clutches allowed for manual transmission.
C.        Automatics must use conventional OEM type torque converter.
D.        Manual ratchet type shifters allowed.
E.        No internal modifications.
F.        Coolers allowed but must be mounted in front of radiator.

Body:
A.        Body must remain stock and complete.
B.        Wheel wells and fenders may not be modified. Excessive rust must be repaired
if tech official believes that it may provide a competitive advantage by allowing
tire clearance
C.        Drivers position must remain approx stock.

Tires:
A.        Any DOT approved tire allowed
B.        Maximum diameter 31” measured at 20psi
C.        Must not stick out past body lines as viewed from above.

Track and Wheelbase:
A.        Suspension mounting points must remain stock +/- 1”
B.        Wheelbase must remain stock +/- 1”

Weight:
A.        Minimum vehicle weight 3500lbs

Modified

Description: This class is intended for limited modified production based trucks and
SUV’s

Engine:
A.        Must use OEM block, no aftermarket blocks allowed
B.        Maximum displacement 470ci
C.        Aftermarket rods and crank allowed, must be cast iron or steel
D.        Aftermarket pistons allowed.
E.        Roller cams allowed.
F.        No titanium parts allowed

Heads:
A.        Aftermarket heads allowed if:
a.        Valve angle remains within 2 degrees of stock
b.        Intake and exhaust ports remain in the same configuration
B.        Porting and polishing allowed
C.        No titanium parts allowed

Fuel system and induction:
A.        Any four barrel carburetor allowed
B.        Predator carburetors allowed
C.        Fuel injection allowed if:
a.        Engine is less than 360ci
b.        OEM ECU is used, no stand alone or piggyback systems allowed,
reprogramming and chips allowed.
c.        OEM concept is maintained, No open/box type plenums, no carburetor
intakes modified for direct port injection, TBI on aftermarket intakes allowed
if engine came with TBI originally.
D.        No custom intake manifolds, manifolds may be ported but no welding or adding
material
E.        No turbochargers, superchargers or nitrous.

Oiling system:
A.        No dry sump systems
B.        Oil coolers allowed
C.        Oil filter relocation allowed
D.        Oil accumulators allowed

Chassis:

Frame:
A.        Original frame must remain from furthest forward stock suspension mounting
point to rearward most stock suspension mounting point.
B.        Strengthening of frame allowed.
C.        C-notching rear of frame for axle clearance allowed provided strength is not
affected.
D.        No tube chassis, custom, or homebuilt frames.

Suspension:
A.        Maximum suspension travel is 14”
B.        Front suspension must remain factory concept for that frame.
C.        3 or 4 link suspension allowed in rear but limited to 12” of travel.
D.        No quarter elliptical springs or compound suspensions allowed.
E.        No nitrogen shocks as primary suspension

Shocks and Bumpstops:
A.        Multiple shocks allowed
B.        Coil-overs allowed
C.        Hydraulic bump stops allowed

Transmission and Transfercase:
A.        Any OEM passenger car or truck transmission allowed
B.        Aftermarket parts and modifications allowed
C.        Automatics must use conventional torque converter
D.        No multi-disk clutches allowed on manual transmissions.
E.        OEM type transfer cases only, must be bolted in original holes, if adapter plate is
used, must be as near to stock as possible.
F.        Modification to transfer cases allowed.

Tires and Wheels:
A.        Maximum of 35” x 13.50 tire
B.        Maximum rim size 17”
C.        Beadlocks allowed.

Steering:
A.        Must be safe, any design allowed.

Brakes:
A.        Any brakes allowed
B.        Must be capable of locking all 4 wheels.

Body:
A.        Must resemble truck or SUV produced in quantities of 5000 or more.
B.        Wheel wells may be modified

Weight and Ride height:
A.        Minimum weight 3300lbs
B.        Minimum weight with Aluminum heads 4000lbs
C.        Minumum weight with engines over 400ci 4000lbs.
D.        Must clear 12” ride height block under transfer case or transmission.

Open

Description: Any 2 or 4 wheel drive truck or SUV allowed. This class is left open so
everyone will have a place to race if they do not fit into other classes. This class is not
intended to be a built to the limit class.

Engine:
A.        No Roots type blowers allowed.
B.        No nitrous.

Tires:
A.        DOT approved tires only

Notice:
Our rules are intended to provide a safe, fair racing opportunity for everyone. Safety is our number one
goal, without safe conditions our sport cannot continue. With that said racing is an inherently
dangerous sport, rules are meant to limit the risk but do not guarantee that injury or death will not
occur, all drivers, crew and spectators assume all risk when participating in/at a racing event.
Technical:
  • This class is intended for street legal trucks and SUV's, no race trucks or cars.
  • Cam, intake, and header swaps allowed
  • Maximum of one 4bbl carburetor or OEM type fuel injection.
  • All major components must remain in stock location as delivered from the factory
    (engine,driveline, radiator, seat, etc.)
  • Body panels and dash must remain intact, wheel openings may be enlarged for
    tire clearance, rear seats may be removed.
  • Glass may be removed, tail gates and removable tops may be removed.
  • Must retain OEM style suspension
  • Up to 4" Suspension and 2"body lifts allowed provided they are safe, no lift
    blocks on front leaf springs.
  • Maximum of 49" DOT Approved tires no cutting or grooving
  • No rear steering or steering brakes
  • No Nitrous oxide
  • Automotive type gasoline, diesel, or ethanol only
Driver:
  • Must be 18+ years or 16+ with signed wavier from parent or guardian who is
    present
  • Helmets must be a DOT or SNELL M95 or SA95 certified or better with no defects.
  • Neck collar mandatory, additional head and neck restraints highly recommend.
  • Eye protection required, sunglasses and/or corrective lenses are not
    satisfactory.
  • Must wear appropriate clothing, long pants, shirt, etc.
  • Must wear appropriate footwear, no open-toed shoes.
Driver's Area:.
  • OEM seat minimum, manufactured race seats highly recommended(mandatory
    for side by side and Chicago style races)
  • All seats must be securely mounted
  • OEM seat belts minimum, 3" 5-point racing harnesses highly recommended
    (mandatory for  side by side and Chicago style races), all belts must be in good
    condition, securely mounted to roll cage and/or frame.
  • Open topped vehicles must have metal sheet or safety netting above driver.
    Window nets recommended for all vehicles and are required for Chicago style
    and side by side races.
  • OEM type ignition switch minimum, switch must kill power to all electrical
    accessories
  • OEM fire walls must remain intact with no holes or air gaps, any firewall
    modification or damage requires use of a 6-point roll cage.
  • No flammable fluids or exhaust allowed to pass through drivers area.
  • 2.5lbs ABC fire extinguisher minimum required in all vehicles, must be securely
    mounted within easy access with driver strapped in.
Roll Bars:
  • Open top vehicles or vehicles with any damage that may affect its integrity in a
    roll over will require a 6-point type roll cage this includes but not limited to
    damage or modification to firewall, roof structures and/or other major
    components. All side by side and Chicago style races require a 6-point roll cage
    with door bars(see open/modified rules for roll bar specifications)
  • Roll bar must be padded where it could come in contact of driver.
  • Must be securely mounted to frame, uni-body vehicles may weld to plates. Plates
    must be a minimum of 6" x 6" x 1/8" using sandwiching method with a minimum
    of four grade 8 or better 3/8" bolts with locking nuts per plate.  
Engine and Transmission:
  • Must have at least 2 external return springs on throttle.
  • Must have working neutral safety switch, vehicle cannot be started in gear
  • No leaking fluids
  • Minimum of 1qt coolant overflow container
  • All lines and wires must be protected from moving parts and hot exhaust.
  • Exhaust must exit behind driver away from fuel tank/cell
Chassis, suspension and body:
  • Frame must be free of cracks and damaged area must be repaired to a safe
    condition.
  • All suspension and steering fasteners must have cotter keys or locknuts with
    threads showing.
  • Hubs and axles need to be in a safe working condition.
  • Brake lines need to be safely routed to protect from abrasion  from moving parts.
  • Brakes must be able to lock all four wheels
  • No pinion brakes.
  • OEM fuel tanks minimum, Aftermarket racing fuel cells recommended, must be
    properly vented, can not be vented into driver's compartment. No other type of
    fuel tanks allowed.
  • Rear mounted batteries must have an emergency kill switch securely mounted
    and clearly labeled at the rear of the vehicle accessible to track workers in the
    event of an incident, must kill all ignition and electrical systems(mandatory for
    side by side and Chicago style races)   
  • Drive shaft loops recommended, loops should be 6 inches from front universal
    joint on all driveshafts. Loops should be made of 2" x 1/4" steel strap, or 3/8"
    chain, chain should not be able to contact drive shaft. Universal joint shields
    highly recommended
  • Tires must have at least 3/32 tread  with no cuts or damage making them unsafe.
  • Tires should not rub any other components.
  • Any ballast must be properly secured, no liquid ballast allowed
  • Body panels must be safely secured.
  • Advertising and other truck content should not be offensive, G-Rated content
    only!
Spectator Tough Trucks
General rules:
  • No alcohol, narcotics, or other illegal substances allowed in the pits
  • Drivers or crew members exhibiting sign of use from above substances will be
    immediately disqualified
  • No Riders on vehicles in pits or during competition.
  • Vehicles can not be left running unattended.
  • All workmanship and components must be of good quality and condition. Any
    vehicle deemed unsafe will not be allowed to compete.
  • Drivers must attend drivers meeting prior to event
  • Vehicles will be tech inspected prior to each event, vehicles unable to make it to
    tech inspection will no be allowed to compete
  • Promoter or Competition director have final judgement on all matters and
    reserve to right to modify rules in the name of safety of competitiveness
Open/Modified/Stock
Safety rules and regulations
General:
  • Must be 18 years or older or 16+ with a signed wavier from parents and posses a
    valid drivers licence.
  • Helmets must be SNELL M95 or SA95 certified or better with no defects.
  • Fire suits mandatory must be clean with no defects.
  • Neck collar mandatory, additional head and neck restraints highly recommend.
  • Eye protection required, sunglasses and/or corrective lenses are not
    satisfactory.
  • Must wear appropriate footwear, no open-toed shoes.
Driver's Area:
  • No loose items located anywhere on/in vehicle
  • All seats must be securely mounted to frame or roll cage.
  • 3" 5-point racing harnesses mandatory, belts must be in good condition,
    securely mounted to roll cage and/or frame.
  • Must have window nets, nets must be in good condition with no defects and
    mounted securely. Open topped vehicles must have metal sheet or safety
    netting above driver
  • Windshield must have bars with mesh to protect driver from rocks and debris,
    mush be able to stop a softball size object.
  • A master kill switch must be located within comfortable reach of driver while
    strapped in, kill switch must kill ignition and all other electrical accessories.  
  • Fire walls must be made of metal to provide adequate protection in the event of
    explosion or fire, must be sealed and in good condition, with no holes or air
    gaps allowed, SUV's must have a secondary rear firewall to protect driver from
    hot fluids or fire.
  • No Flammable fluids or exhaust allowed to pass through drivers area, Any fluids
    that pass through drivers area must be shielded and sealed from driver with
    escape holes to vent  fluids away from driver in the event of an incident.
  • No air intakes routed into driver's compartment
  • 2.5lbs ABC fire extinguisher minimum required in all vehicles, must be securely
    mounted within easy access with driver strapped in. Fire suppression system
    highly recommend and may become mandatory in the future.
  • Any vehicle with opening doors, tailgates, hatches, etc. must have secondary
    securing method.
Roll Cages:
  • Must be constructed of 1 3/4" O.D x .120 wall steel DOM tubing or 1 3/4" O.D. x .
    090 wall cro-moly steel DOM tubing.
  • Must be a minimum of 6pt configuration consisting of a rear main hoop, rearward
    braces to support main hoop, diagonal bars behind the driver, a halo bar, A-pillar
    uprights to support halo bar, two door bars placed high and low enough to
    protect the driver. Dash bars and windshield brace recommended. Other
    designed will be allowed as long as they provide equal protection vehicle speed
    and weight will be a factor.
  • No grinding or fillers on welds.
  • All intersections within the drivers compartment must be gusseted with either 3"
    x 1/8" plates of same material, or tubing of the same size as roll bar measuring at
    least 3" at the longest point.
  • Roll bar must be padded where it could come in contact of driver.
  • Must be securely mounted to frame, uni-body vehicles may weld to plates. Plates
    must be a minimum of 6" x 6" x 1/8" using sandwiching method with a minimum
    of four grade 8 or better 3/8" bolts with locking nuts per plate.
Engine and Transmission:

  • Brakes must be able to lock all four wheels
  • Bumpers must be safe, no sharp edges or protrusions  that may cause injury.
  • Aftermarket fuel cells mandatory, must be properly vented to prevent spills in a
    roll over, can not be vented into driver's compartment.
  • Batteries must be properly secured, minimum of two 3/8" bolts with a 2" x 1/8"
    steel strap, terminals must be covered with a non conductive material. Batteries
    in driver's area must be completely shielded from driver and vented outside of
    vehicle.
  • Must have an emergency kill switch securely mounted and clearly labeled at the
    rear of the vehicle accessible to track workers in the event of an incident, must
    kill all ignition and electric fuel pumps   
  • Drive shaft loops required 6 inches from front universal joint on all driveshafts.
    Loop to must be made of 2" x 1/4" steel strap, or 3/8" chain, chain should not be
    able to contact drive shaft under normal operation. Universal joint shields highly
    recommended
  • Tires must have at least 3/32 tread  with no cuts or damage making them unsafe.
  • Tires should not rub any other components.
  • Any ballast must be properly secured and painted white with vehicle number
    written on it, no liquid ballast allowed
  • Body panels must be safely secured.
  • Advertising and other truck content should not be offensive, G-Rated content
    only!
General rules:

  • Aggressive behavior, foul language or abuse toward track officials will not be
    tolerated .

  • Drivers must attend drivers meeting prior to event
  • Vehicles will be tech inspected prior to each event, vehicles unable to make it to
    tech inspection will not be allowed to compete
  • Promoter or Competition director have final judgement on all matters and
    reserve to right to modify rules in the name of safety of competitiveness at
    anytime without notice.
